Clinical Mental Health Counseling is pleased to announce that, for the 2016 academic year they were awarded the Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Grant, for $285,560. This grant financially supports 21 eligible students enrolled in HPC 6900 Internship between January 2017 and September 2017. Each student is receiving $10,000 total to support them during their internship. The purpose of the grant is to increase availability of culturally sensitive behavioral health services to at-risk children, adolescents, and transitional-age youth and those who have developed a behavioral health disorder in the Appalachian region of northwestern North Carolina. In addition, increase integrated care and interdisciplinary care.
